Gazans call for Palestinian reconciliation
Hundreds of youths are demonstrating in the streets of Gaza City and calling for an end to the divisions between the rival Palestinian governments in Gaza and the West Bank.
It is the largest public demonstration in Gaza since a wave of pro-democracy protests erupted throughout the Middle East earlier this year. Gaza's Hamas rulers have suppressed some public unrest in recent weeks. But Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh says his government will permit demonstrations Monday and Tuesday. (AP)
