Huppert, who has visited Israel once before, will arrive with the film "Copacabana". Amalric, who is well-known for his role in Julian Schnabel's "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly," will present his film "On Tour", which won him the Best Director Award at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.
The festival will open with François Ozon's new comedy "Potiche," which stars Gérard Depardieu, Catherine Deneuve and Fabrice Luchini. The film will premiere in Israel as part of the festival and will be screed in cinemas across the country immediately afterwards.
Israel will have an important representative in the festival – actress Ronit Elkabetz, who will present her latest French film "Les Mains Libres" (free hands), directed by Brigitte Sy. The film will be screened as part of a special event dedicated to the Sister movement for Sephardic women, in which Elkabetz serves as president.
Additional guests will be film critic Michel Ciment and author Michel Houellebecq, who will arrive in Israel in honor of the publication of his new book by the Babel publishing house.
