Ahmadinejad: Iran's nuclear facility resistant to earthquakes

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad disregarded the possibility that the nuclear reactor in the Islamic republic could explode as result of an earthquake. He claimed the nuclear facility in the city of Brushehr is more modern than the one that suffered damage in Japan, and that Iran is taking all the necessary precautions.

"I don't think that we have a serious problem," he said during an interview for a Spanish television channel. "The reactor's safety standards are up-to-date. It should be remembered that the reactor in Japan was built 40 years ago, with yesterdays' standards." (Dudi Cohen)
