'Anat Kam bill' passes preliminary reading

None

The Knesset has approved in its preliminary reading a bill proposed by MK Otniel Schneller (Kadima), which stipulates that revealing confidential information with the aim of harming Israel will be punishable by 15 years in prison.

The bill, named after Anat Kam, a soldier who handed state secrets to Ha'aretz newspaper, aims to distinguish between those who explicitly desire to harm the state and those who don't. (Roni Sofer)
