Gaddafi says doesn't expect battle for Benghazi

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi said on Wednesday he did not expect his forces to have to fight to regain control of Benghazi, the main rebel stronghold in the east of the country.

Asked in an interview with Lebanon's LBC Television whether he expected a battle in Benghazi, Gaddafi said: "No, no I don't think so." "All the places where they (rebels) are fortified, are now being sterilised with the help of the people... who say where their locations are," Gaddafi said, describing the rebels as "al Qaeda" and "terrorist" elements who were being defeated.
