Cyprus president: Peace talks stuck

None

Cyprus' president said on Thursday that negotiations with breakaway Turkish Cypriots to reunify the ethnically split island are "not moving forward."

Dimitris Christofias, however, vowed not to give up and to jump-start talks now in their third year with fresh proposals. It is the first time he has said that differences between the two sides have brought talks to a standstill. (AP)
