Gates says US soon to reduce role in Libya operations

The United States will soon reduce its participation in the coalition operation in Libya, Russia's Interfax news agency cited US Defence Secretary Robert Gates as saying on Monday.
Gates also said it would be a mistake for the coalition to set for itself the goal of killing Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, the news agency reported. (Reuters)
