Katsav sentencing: Prosecution, defense arguments presented
None
Presiding Tel Aviv District Court Judge George Karra read out the arguments presented by the prosecution and the defense in relation to the sentencing of former President Moshe Katsav Tuesday.
He stated that the prosecution felt that Katsav was a symbol and that the fact that he committed the acts while serving in office is a reason for severity in sentencing. Meanwhile, the defense argued that Katsav has become of a laughingstock with the media carrying out a kind of field trial against him. (Aviad Glickman and Naama Cohen-Friedman)
