Livni on Katsav sentencing: Not a happy day

Opposition Leader Tzipi Livni commented on the sentencing of Moshe Katsav and said: "A day when a president of the State of Israel goes to prison for rape is not a happy day. You can't negate the presidency post factum but you can deny liberty."
"A president should be elevated above the people by virtue of his position as a symbol. Side by side with the distress there is also great hope that Israel is in a process of change," Livni added. (Roni Sofer)
