None

The Knesset plenum held a moment of silence for thousands of victims killed by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin said: "The earthquake shook as all. The Knesset and the people of Israel are following reports with grave concern as Japan tries to deal with the tsunami effects, which have demonstrated the power of natural forces and how humankind deals with them."

Rivlin addressed the Japanese ambassador in Israel saying: "We are in awe of your steadfast standing against what seems like an impossible mission. Our ties found expression even at a time of crisis and we pray Japan will succeed in recovering from this massive disaster." (Roni Sofer)
