Qassam explodes south of Ashkelon

A Qassam rocket was fired from the north of the Gaza Strip towards the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon. It landed south of the city. The area is being scoured for the rocket's exact landing spot. No injuries or damage were immediately reported.

Earlier, the spokesman for the al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of Islamic Jihad, Abu Ahmed, said that the brigades' response to the IDF attack on a military unit in the Gaza region "will be different, and will come soon." (Shmulik Hadad and Elior Levy)
