Food basket budget to be increased by NIS 5 Mln
The budget allocated for food baskets for the needy for the Passover holiday will be increased this year from NIS 3 million ($840,000) to NIS 8 million ($2.25 million). Finance Minister Steinitz, his deputy Yitzhak Cohen and deputy Welfare and Social Service Minister Moshe Kahlon decided in a joint meeting Sunday.
The sum will be transferred to the organizations responsible for giving out food baskets to the needy. (Meital Yasur-Beit Or)
