Knesset revokes last of Azmi Bishara's benefits

The Knesset voted Monday to revoke the last remaining benefits paid to former Balad Chairman Azmi Bishara. The motion was carried 29 to eight.

Bishara fled Israel in 2007, after he was suspected of providing Hezbollah with information during the Second Lebanon War. The decision was derived from the "Bishara Law," which allows the House to revoke monetary benefits from Knesset members over criminal offenses. (Roni Sofer)
