Philippines says detects tiny amounts of radiation

Tiny amounts of airborne radiation from the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant have been detected in the Philippines, but the Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI) said on Tuesday it was no threat to the public.

The nuclear agency said in its daily bulletin it had detected "very tiny amounts of radioactive isotopes which appeared to be coming from the Fukushima nuclear power plant." (Reuters)
