Court rejects Imad Fares' petition to postpone his dismissal from IDF

The Supreme Court rejected the petition of Brigadier-General Imad Fares to postpone his removal from the IDF until a ruling is reached on the appeal that he filed against his dismissal. The court asserted that his chances to win the appeal are slim.
The ruling judges also noted that if Fares does win the appeal, the rejection of this petition will not deter him from returning to his military service. Fares was convicted of failure to uphold orders and of military document offenses after he allowed his wife to drive his military-issued vehicle and telling his commander he was in the vehicle with her when she got into a minor accident.
