Two loud explosions rocked Tripoli Tuesday in the area of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's residence, and seven others were heard in Tajura, a suburb located east of the capital, according to an AFP reporter and witnesses.

The first detonation was heard around 16:30 GMT, followed by another one three minutes later, in the area of Bab Al-Azizia, the residence of Colonel Gaddafi, where ambulance sirens were heard. At the same time, seven detonations were heard in Tajoura, a Tripoli suburb. According to a local resident, aircraft dropped five bombs on a military site located in this neighborhood. (AFP)
