UK: Diplomats did not discuss arming Libya rebels

British foreign secretary William Hague says that diplomats meeting in London did not discuss arming the opposition to Libya's Muammar Gaddafi.
Hague said Tuesday that the subject of arming rebels did not come up as officials from up to 40 countries met to discuss the north African nation's future. He added that Libya was under a United Nations-mandated arms embargo and that the restrictions "in our view apply to the whole of Libya." (AP)
