17 leftist activists held for inquiry; 4 arrested
IDF forces held for inquiry 17 activists from Sheikh Jarrah Solidarity movement protesting at Beit Ummar, and arrested four of them. The activists gathered to commemorate Land Day and protest against the IDF closing off the village, claiming the soldiers refused to show the activists the warrant to block off the area and beat them.
An IDF official said Beit Ummar is not closed off but "perceptions are being taken to minimize the stone casting towards Israeli vehicles in the area." (Yair Altman)
