WASHINGTON – Former National Security Adviser General Jim Jones on Sunday warned of the impact of uprisings across the Arab on Iran ,saying that the chaos is something the Iranian government is “reasonably happy with.”
In an interview with CNN, Jones said: “Iran is flying under the radar right now...you don’t hear too much about their nuclear program because everyone else is focused elsewhere.
"But you can bet that Iran is affecting virtually everything and trying to play in every one of these countries where we’re having some difficulties … Iran is out there agitating things," he added.
Jones, who was the National Security Adviser during the first two years of Obama's administration, called to renew the peace process between Israel and the Palestinian, saying that such a step would cause a great disappointment in Iran.
The former national security adviser stressed that there is no direct connection between the unrest in Arab world and the peace process.
