Bomb explodes near California synagogue

A suspicious object, apparently a pipe bomb, exploded Thursday in the parking lot of a synagogue in Santa Monica, California, various news agencies reported.
The synagogue also functions as a Chabad center. Authorities initially had no word on injuries or damage. The bomb exploded at 17th and Broadway, and police shut off the entrance to the area on all four sides. Authorities are currently investigating whether it was a hate crime against Jews. (Ynet)
