19,000 take part in Tel Aviv annual marathon

A runner in the Tel Aviv marathon, held Friday, suffered from severe sunstroke and was evacuated to the Soraski Medical Center. Three additional runners also suffered from sunstroke and were cared for at a special clinic constructed especially for the marathon event.
The winner of the 2011 marathon was Joseph Kipkemboi of Kenya who completed the 26 mile and 385 yard course in two hours, 19 seconds and 13 miliseconds, won a NIS 15,000 ($4,340) prize. (Meital Yasur-Beit Or and Oren Aharoni)
