Dana International to talk to Qatari radio

Managers of station broadcasting from Doha writes asks to interview Israeli singer, say 'we wish Dana and the State of Israel the best of luck in the Eurovision in Düsseldorf'

Dana International, Israel's representative to the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest, is expected to give an interview to a radio station broadcasting from Doha, Qatar.

In recent weeks Dana's managers have been receiving numerous requests for interviews ahead of her performance in Düsseldorf next month, including one from the Arab station.

The QBS radio station, which broadcasts the program "Douze Points", asked to interview Dana ahead of the Eurovision. According to its managers, it is the only radio station in the Gulf focusing on the European contest. The interview will likely be held while Dana rehearses for the contest in Germany.

"We look forward hearing from you soon, along with all the people in Qatar," the letter sent to the Israeli singer's managers concluded. "We wish you all the best, and to Dana and the State of Israel – the best of luck in Düsseldorf."

Dana's manager, Shai Kerem, was moved by the request. "Dana has been receiving many interview requests, from all parts of the world," he told Ynet. "It's more important to bring those who are far closer, than those who are already close."

And that's not all. In about week, Dana will fly to Paris for a meeting with fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier in order to select the dress she will wear on stage at the Eurovision. Gaultier designed Dana's famous feather dress for the 1998 Eurovision, which she won.

Dana will later be a guest on "The Saturday Night Show", which is broadcast in Ireland on the popular RTÉ One, where she will also perform her song "Ding Dong".

When she returns to Israel, she will take part in a Ukrainian television program covering her journey to the Eurovision. This is also being covered by a new website launched ahead of her Eurovision performance.
