Police say eight farmers have been killed by bombs buried on property they recently reclaimed in a swath of Iraq's disputed territories. A policeman in Iraq's eastern Diyala province said three women, including one who was pregnant, were among the dead. Four people also were wounded.
The casualties were confirmed by a Baqouba hospital medic. Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media. The dead were members of the same Shiite family who had been forced from their home years ago during the sectarian fighting that swept Iraq, but came back in late 2010. (AP)
