PM's Office: Shalit deal must not risk Israeli citizens
The Prime Minister's Office issued a statement in response to the press conference held by former security officials, who called for the immediate release of kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit.
"The lessons of the past show us that dozens of Israelis were murdered in terror attacks perpetrated by terrorists who were released from prison in similar deals, such as the Jibril agreement. The prime minister insists that any deal reached between the side poses no risk to the citizens of Israel," it read. (Attila Somfalvi)
