Reports: Turkey arrests 40 suspected Islamists
News reports say Turkish police have arrested some 40 people suspected of links to militant Islamic groups, in simultaneous nationwide raids.
The state-run Anatolia news agency says the suspects detained Tuesday are linked to al-Qaeda or to the Turkish Hezbollah, which takes its name from the Lebanon-based Hezbollah but shares no formal links. Anatolia said the operations were continuing. (AP)
