The fire that incinerated the IKEA branch in Netanya in February was caused by a short circuit that occurred in the lighting of an outdoor sign, the two inquiry committees established by Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch determined.
It was also found that a series of malfunctions occurred in the store's fire safety system, which was supposed to prevent the fire from spreading across the entire store. (Omri Efraim)
