Portable shelters to be placed in Ashkelon

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has informed Ashkelon Mayor Benny Vaknin that portable shelters will be placed in the city's educational establishments. The Prime Minister's Office said the government has decided to boost protection measures in southern communities under the rocket threat.

The Knesset's Finance Committee is slated to convene before Passover to approve the NIS 45 million (roughly $13 million) budget. Vaknin welcomed the decision. (Shmulik Hadad)
