Mubarak to be detained for 15 days

Egypt's prosecutor general announced Wednesday the 15-day detention of the country's former president, pending investigations into accusations of corruption and abuse of authority.

 

A statement from the prosecutor general's office was posted on Facebook early Wednesday, announcing Hosni Mubarak's detention. It said the ongoing investigation was into was into allegations of corruption, the wasting of public money, and the abuse of position for personal gain. (AP)
