Underground Beijing church leaders detained

None

A US-based rights group that promotes religious freedom in China says several members of an underground Beijing church have been detained or put under house arrest in an ongoing crackdown on the unregistered congregation.

Bob Fu, president of the China Aid Association, said in an email Sunday that two pastors of the Shouwang church were detained by police Saturday night. Fu said several Shouwang leaders are under house arrest and some members have lost their homes or jobs amid an official campaign to shut down the church. (AP)
