Histadrut announces labor dispute after Katz threatens to close railways

The Histadrut labor union announced a labor dispute involving Israel Railways following Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz's threat to close down the company if it does not implement a comprehensive safety reform within four years.
"The Histadrut and the employees are willing to adopt any program that increases the safety, but not at the expense of the employees' rights," Histadrut Transport Union chairman Avi Edri said. (Shahar Haselkorn)
