Peres visits Shalit protest tent

President Shimon Peres is visiting the parents of captive soldier Gilad Shalit at their protest adjacent to the prime minister's residence.

The couple met Thursday night with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who told them of the appointment of the new special envoy for the release of Gilad Shalit, David Meidan. Today marks the 1758th day since Gilad's abduction. (Omri Ephraim)
