France condemns Syria's violent repression of protesters

French Foreign Affairs Minister Alain Juppe condemned the "indiscriminate and brutal repression" of protesters by Bashar al-Assad's regime, and called on the Syrian authorities "to renounce the use of violence."
"The leaders and the perpetrators of these crimes must answer for their actions," Mr. Juppe said. (AFP)
