None

The Syrian army entered the southern city of Deraa on Monday to hunt down "extremist terrorist groups," a military source said.

According to this source, which was cited by the official media, the army has penetrated Deraa, 100 km south of Damascus, "in order to restore calm and security in response to calls for help by people who asked for an intervention that would put an end to acts of sabotage and murder committed by extremist terrorist groups." Soldiers backed by tanks poured into the city where the uprising began, opening fire on civilians before dawn and killing at least 11 people, witnesses said. (News Agencies)
