Alabama says tornado destruction 'massive', 131 dead

Alabama has suffered "massive destruction of property" inflicted by storms and tornadoes and at least 131 people are confirmed dead, state governor Robert Bentley said on Thursday.

"We expect that number to rise," Bentley told a conference call with federal emergency officials. (Reuters)
