Syria: 3,000 demonstrate in Banias against siege

Nearly 3,000 people demonstrated Tuesday at Banias, demaning the government to lift the siege off of this northwestern Syrian town and off of the city of Daraa, a human rights activist said. The protesters chanted slogans calling for the downfall of the regime, the activist said. (AFP)
