Human rights groups petition court to annul Nakba law

The Association for Civil Rights and the Adalah advocacy group have petitioned the High Court of Justice against the Knesset's decision to approve the Nakba law, which prohibits state-funded institutions to mark Independence Day as a day of mourning.

The organizations claimed in the petition that the law violates the freedom of equality, freedom of occupational choice and freedom of expression, and therefore should be annulled. (Aviad Glickman)
