Cairo: Fatah-Hamas unity deal signing delayed

The signing of the reconciliation agreement between Fatah and Hamas movements, which was scheduled to begin earlier in Cairo, is being delayed for reasons that are yet to become clear. The Al-Jazeera news network reported that last-minute negotiations are causing the delay in the ceremony.

Representatives of the movements signed a draft of the unity deal in Cairo on Tuesday. Egyptian Intelligence Director Murad Muwafi was present at the signing. Among those attending Wednesday's event are Israeli Arab MKs Ahmad Tibi, Mohammad Barakeh and Taleb el-Sana. (Elior Levy)
