Spain's highest court has overturned a ruling that barred a Basque coalition from taking part in upcoming local elections on grounds that some of its candidates are linked to the outlawed political wing of the armed separatist group ETA.
The Constitutional Court voted 6-5 to let the coalition called Bildu take part in the May 22 voting. The decision was announced shortly after midnight Thursday. The court did not state its reasoning for overturning a decision announced Monday by the Supreme Court. The full verdict is expected in a few days. (AP)
