Anti-government protests renewed in Tunisia

Police battled renewed protests in Tunisia's capital on Friday after earlier breaking up a demonstration to demand the resignation of the government after tensions rose over talk of a possible coup.

Police fired teargas in a street close to the heart of Tunis and advanced towards hundreds of protesters, who had set a fire in the middle of the road. Witnesses said some protesters threw stones at security forces. (Reuters)
