Afganistan: 2 explosion, gunfire near Kandahar governor's office

Two loud explosions, followed by gunfire was heard near the compound of the governor of Afghanistan's southern Kandahar province on Saturday, a witness said.

It was not immediately clear what had caused the explosion or whether there were any casualties. The Reuters reporter said he could see gunmen firing at the governor's compound in the center of Kandahar city. (Reuters)
