The question of the succession of Osama bin Laden at the next head of Al-Qaeda remains "open", according to a senior United States official.
The source said that the current number two, Ayman al-Zawahiri, is considered to be the next leader of the terror organization, however "there are strong indications that (Zawahiri) is not popular in some circles of the group. So I think the question of who will succeed Osama bin Laden is open," he said. (AFP)
