Libyan rebels capture Misrata airport

Libyan rebels captured the airport in the western city of Misrata after fierce fighting with Muammar Gaddafi's forces on Wednesday, an AFP correspondent on the scene reported.
The rebels were in full control of the airport, with hundreds celebrating in the streets, the correspondent said. Gaddafi's army also left behind tanks that were being set on fire by the rebels, he said. (AFP)
