Gates: US has spent about $750M on Libya conflict

US Defense Secretary Robert Gates said on Thursday the military has spent about $750 million so far on operations aimed at protecting Libyan civilians from the forces of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
Gates gave the estimate while answering questions from US Marines at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. (Reuters)
