White House to unveil cybersecurity proposal
The White House on Thursday was expected to unveil a major cybersecurity proposal aimed at protecting critical US infrastructure from computer attacks including many believed to originate in China.
The White House proposal would give new impetus to a long-running cybersecurity debate in the US Congress, where lawmakers have been working on various pieces of legislation, including one circulated in 2010 that would give President Barack Obama emergency powers to combat hackers. (Reuters)
