1 killed as thousands protest in Syria

A human rights activist says at least one person has been killed as Syrian security forces opened fire on thousands of protesters.
The shooting took place on Friday in the central city of Homs. The city has seen some of the largest protests during the Syrian uprising, which started two months ago. (AP)
