Egypt police fire teargas on anti-Israel protesters

None

Egyptian police fired teargas on Sunday to force back pro-Palestinian demonstrators who had broken through a barricade in front of the Israeli embassy in Cairo, witnesses said.

Several hundred protesters were gathered in front of the embassy to mark the "nakba", or catastrophe, when the creation of Israel in 1948 caused hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to flee their homes. (Reuters)
