Senior Hamas official Salah Bardawil said that Fatah and Hamas will meet in Cairo on Monday to discuss the reconciliation between the two Palestinian movements. Among the topics that will be address are the interim government, security, elections and the restoration of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
Bardawil denied reports that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has appointed current Prime Minister Salam Fayyad to head the interim government. He emphasized that the national coalition will be the one to choose a prime minister. (Elior Levy)
