Militant leader: Bin Laden's death will not stop jihad

The leader of an Islamist insurgency in the North Caucasus said Osama bin Laden's death would not stop violence and hinted at more attacks, calling Russia a "battleground" in an interview released on Tuesday.

A decade after federal forces drove separatists from power in his native Chechnya, Doku Umarov leads an insurgency seeking to carve out a "Caucasus Emirate" comprising the war-scarred province and other mainly Muslim regions in the North Caucasus. (Reuters)
