Ahmadinejad escapes refinery explosion

An explosion rocked Iran's largest oil refinery Tuesday, just as Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wasarrive at the site for a scheduled visit.
Tehran's Fars news agency said the explosion at Abadan, in south-western Iran, took place shortly Ahmadinejad's arrival. The president was supposed to inaugurate an expansion project at the refinery.
Initial reports said one person was killed at least 20 people were injured. The explosion, attributed to a gas leak, caused a fire at the site.
A live broadcast by Iranian state TV later showed Ahmadinejad addressing local officials at the Abadan site.
