UK officials: British airports to be hit by ash

British air traffic controllers say ash from the erupting Iceland volcano will affect flights out of Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland Tuesday afternoon.

The agency that controls air traffic over Britain and the eastern Atlantic said airports will remain open but flights will be affected between 1:00 pm (1200GMT) and 7 pm (1800GMT) local time. (AP)
